The National Express Youth Promise
A quick piece here for National Express, we had a tight turn around time and a limited opportunity for filming, but with some careful planning and coordination, managed to pull off this quick docu-promo piece. Through their Youth Promise, National Express are committed to enhancing the opportunities of success for young people. A meeting with 6 members of the British Youth Council was held at National Express’s board room, to develop the Youth Promise, and we were on hand to document and promote it.
Knowing that we would have limited time for interviewing and cutaway work, and not wanting to interrupt the meeting, we worked to a stealthy principle (no squeaky shoes, or beeping cameras!), and quick vox-pop style interviews. Everyone was very accommodating, and the members of the youth council being naturally confident and informed, came across wonderfully on camera. We developed a lower third incorporating the youth promise logo, and pacing the edit to match the high tempo music, resulted in a short but certainly not simple piece. All in all – another great shoot with the lovely and engaging folks of National Express and the British Youth Council!
And come the presentation date of the youth promise, we were the natural choice to provide events coverage of the launch night – hosted at the London Transport Museum. With both photography and video we covered the buzz of the event, completed some quick interviews with the numerous VIP’s, and some lovely group photos of the youth council meeting MP’s and Charity leaders. We also had the rare chance to witness reception to some of our work when the youth promise video was screened in the museum’s cinema – it seemed to go down quite well thankfully!
